Facebook has this tendency to keep your profile as personal as it can be. By the passage of time it has added features that enable its engine to display content that appeals to you the most. To do so, it stores your activity history for better references. Now, whatever you do on Facebook is stored in your Activity Log. Let it be a Like, Comment, Share or Follow; Facebook keeps it all. It even stores your search history. Whenever you look up for something at Facebook, a post, person, a page or anything else, every search is stored in your Activity Log.
Although the search history is only visible to you and is not shown to your friends or followers at an point but if at any time you feel the need to delete the search history due to many probable reasons like someone asking you to use your account or maybe you just want to give yourself a new start without starting a new account, you can delete the search history easily by following certain steps that we have listed down for you.
- Open up your Facebook
- Open your timeline by clicking your name on top of the page
- Click on View Activity Log on your profile right under your Cover photo
- On left side, you will see a list of filters that you can use. You need to click More so more filters can be displayed
- Find and select Search from the expanded list
- Clicking on it will display all the searches you have ever made so far using your Facebook
You can individually delete any specific searches that you want to by clicking the icon at the right most side of that specific search and clicking Delete. If you want to give your profile a new shot by clearing every search that you ever made, you need to click Clear Searches on the top right side of the screen.
Clicking it will pop up a question asking you to confirm as this action is irreversible. You can click Clear Searches and Poof! It is gone. The history page would be neat as clean. Although applying other filters will show up certain information but the search panel would be empty.
