Battery life in iPhone can be significantly increased if the user observes the following tips. Of course observing all the tips would be the best option but that would mean less fun and power on your iPhone.
Turn off automatic updates
This feature is super cool as you don’t have to manually update your apps whenever newer and cooler features emerge but it drains your battery. To turn off the automatic updates just tap theSetting >iTunes & AppStore>Automatic Downloads. Then move the slider to Off in the Updates icon.
Decline suggested apps (for iOS 8)
This feature checks your location, and environment, your phones for apps, it then suggests for particular apps depending on the information gathered. This process also involves communication to the App Store uses your battery considerably. To turn it off just tap theSettings>General>Handoff & Suggested Apps and slide to Off for My Apps and App Store.
Regulate background refresh
One of the new features in iOS 7 is the Background App Refresh. It looks at the apps that you use most often, the time that you use them and automatically update them so that the next time you launch the app you’ll find it updated. It however drains battery despite this cool functionality. To turn it off you need to tap theSettings app> General> Background App Refresh.
You can choose to disable the whole app functionality or just slide to Off for specific apps.
Reduce the Screen brightness
You can control the brightness on your iPhone by just sliding the control slider. The brighter the screen the more power it consumes. To turn off brightness tap the Settings app>Display & Brightness (for iOS 7) and move the slider to the desired level.
Switch on automatic brightness
Turning this feature on makes use of ambient light sensor to adjust screen’s brightness depending on the external light available (it will look quite dark in places where there is no light and bright when there’s light) to reduce battery usage and make it clear to see. To achieve this, tap on the “Settings app>Display & Brightness (for iOS 7)” and push the slider as required.
Stop motion and animations
Among many other cool features iOS 7 is Background Motion. It is because of its effect that when your iPhone is moved, the apps and the background image appear to move all over as if on a different plane. It is very good but drains the battery considerably. To switch it off just tap the Settings app>General>Accessibility>Reduce Motion>Move slider to On/green.
Keep Wi-Fi off
Wi-Fi is a high speed network that an iPhone can connect to. Keeping Wi-Fi on with the hope of finding a hotspot so that one can connect consumes the power considerably and unless you are using the Wi-Fi at the moment, it is advisable to turn off the Wi-Fi by tapping the Settings app>Wi-Fi>Slide to Off/White.
Turn off your personal hotspot
This feature turns your phone into a hotspot for Wi-Fi devices around it to connect. This, like many other cool features, drains your battery. To turn it off, tap Settings app>Personal Hotspot and move the slider to Off/White.
Turn off location services
Location Service sends data using built-in GPS. You can reduce this by tapping the Settings app>Privacy>Location Services.
Finally, you can find the apps that drain your battery by tapping Settings>General>Usage>Battery Usage.
